DLSU closes out the second round sweep vs the listless Lady Warriors

Games on Wednesday
(UST Quadcentennial Pavilion)
9am – UE vs DLSU (Men)
11am – UE vs DLSU (Women)
3pm – AdU vs UP (Men)
5pm – AdU vs UP (Women)
THROUGH a major upset, De La Salle University (DLSU) may advance to the second round on Wednesday to continue its quest for redemption in UAAP Season 88.
The mighty DLSU Lady Spikers are heavily favored to post their 13thth won back-to-back against listless University of the East (UE) in the last week of the two-round elimination to earn a spot in the finals at the UST Quadcentennial Pavilion.
La Salle is already guaranteed high growth and doubles promotion given the traditional Final Four format but they are determined to improve it to a straight best-of-three final against whoever survived the grueling ladder play.
The Lady Spikers attempt to enter that bid at 11 a.m. against UE (0-12) in the midst of a 26-game hitting streak before the final hurdle to pass defending champion National University (NU) (9-3) this Sunday. At 5 p.m., Adamson University (AdU) (7-5) will face University of the Philippines (UP) (5-7) to break the logjam with University of Santo Tomas (UST) and Far Eastern University (FEU) for third to fourth place.
The spikers from Taft, however, would like to cross the bridge when they get there, not wanting to stumble as they approach the home stretch where the goal on their backs grows every day to spoil a 14-0 sweep.
If La Salle is serious about making the postseason, Adamson is in a must-win position to claim third place by himself and increase its chances of a Final Four appearance since its last appearance in 2023. A win would end any slim hope of clinching another two-game edge against second-ranked NU.
The AdU Lady Falcons are tied with the UST Golden Tigresses and the FEU Lady Tamaraws in the last two semi-final spots as UP remains in contention but with little chance as they need all other conditions to suit them, in addition to needing to win their last two games.
And Adamson has no plans to be distracted.
In the men’s division, La Salle (5-7) tries to keep its playoff hopes alive against UE (2-10) at 9 a.m. while UP (3-9) and Adamson (2-10) are eliminated at 3 p.m. John Bryan Ulanday
