Chili’s is ramping up its fight for superfoods, taking aim at McDonald’s with a new range of chicken sandwiches.
The restaurant announced Tuesday that it is expanding Big Crispy chicken sandwiches, now included in its $10.99 “3 For Me” bundle — a combo that includes an entree, fries, plain chips and salsa, and an unlimited fountain drink.
“With an expanded, full lineup of six Big Crispy chicken sandwiches — all hand-tossed and WAY bigger than McDonald’s McCrispy — Chili’s offers guests the abundance and quality they truly deserve,” the company said in a statement.

Chili’s relies heavily on size and price comparison as part of its marketing campaign.
The company says internal research has found its chicken filet is, on average, more than 80% larger than McDonald’s McCrispy filet – underscoring its criticism of what it calls “shrinkage” in the fast food industry.

“For the past few years, we’ve defied fast food’s decline by serving up our industry-leading $10.99 ‘3 For Me’ burgers at a price that can’t be found in promotion,” Chili’s Chief Marketing Officer George Felix said in a statement. “… This is a shakeup of the long overdue chicken sandwich category, and one that our guests will love.”
The new lineup includes six variations, including classic and spicy options, and flavors like honey chipotle, Nashville hot, buffalo, and a deluxe version topped with bacon and Swiss cheese.

Meanwhile, McDonald’s is doing its part to win over budget-conscious customers.
The company recently introduced an enhanced McValue menu, which will launch on April 21, with 10 items priced under $3 and a new $4 breakfast menu.
Chili’s and McDonald’s did not immediately respond to FOX Business’ request for comment.
