A pharmaceutical supplement sold online is being recalled because it contains the active ingredient used in Viagra.
New Mexico-based Primal Supplements Group LLC is voluntarily recalling certain units of the Primal Herbs sexual enhancement product “Volume” because it contains sildenafil, according to a notice issued Wednesday by the US Food and Drug Administration (FDA).
Sildenafil is the active ingredient in the prescription drug Viagra, which is used to treat erectile dysfunction. The ingredient was not listed on the product’s label, the FDA said.
Health officials warn the undisclosed drug may be dangerous to some consumers.

Sildenafil can interact with medications that contain nitrates, such as nitroglycerin, which can cause dangerously low blood pressure.
People with conditions such as heart disease, diabetes, high blood pressure or high cholesterol are more likely to take nitrate medications and may face higher risks, the agency said.
