Kurt Russell and Goldie Hawn have been having fun together for 43 years.

In a recent interview with The Wall Street Journal, the 75-year-old actor talked about the early days of his relationship with Hawn after meeting for the first time in 1967, on the set of “The One and Only, Genuine, Original Family Band” when he was 15 years old and “a 21-year-old dancer.”

“Goldie and I met again in 1983, while we were working on the movie ‘Swing Shift,'” he said. “At the time, we were both divorced, and he had two young children—Oliver and Kate—and I had one, Boston. We hit it off and agreed, ‘We’re not happy until we are.’ It’s been 43 years.”

Although never married, the two have built their families and built a life together over the past four decades, raising their children together and welcoming their son Wyatt together in July 1986.

Today, Russell says he and Hawn “split our time between homes in LA, Palm Desert, California, Old Snowmass, Colorado, and New York,” Russell saying his favorite is the one in Old Snowmass.

“It’s a big, beautiful place with farm cabins on the farm that we moved into a little over 40 years ago,” Russell said. “Goldie and I have a love of log houses. I never got that out of my schedule, starting with Maine.”

Hawn spoke about their decision to not get married in September 2007, telling Woman’s Day that the two had “done fine without being married.”

He added, “I already feel devoted,” and that as long as his “emotional state is one of devotion, loyalty, care and love,” both are doing well.

“We’re both financially independent, we’re both doing well independently,” she said, “We’ve raised our kids in a smart way; they’re great people. We’ve done a great job there and we didn’t have to get married to do that. I like waking up every day and seeing that you’re there and knowing that I have a choice. There’s really no reason to get married.”

Kate and Oliver Hudson were about three and five years old respectively when Russell entered their lives, and both have opened up about looking at him as their father, revealing that they call him “Pa.”

During a November 2024 episode of their podcast, “Sibling Revelry,” Oliver credited Russell as the man who “raised me,” adding, “I’m the man I am today because of him.”

“There was a moment when he asked us, me and Kate, if we wanted to be adopted, and we said no. Not that we knew, you know, we knew too much maybe what even f—ing meant. … We just said, ‘Well, we don’t need it. The love is there.’

“Same time, when you don’t have your biological [father] all around, it’s hard to get that back, no matter what. The love was there with Kurt, no doubt about it. He is my father. I call him Pa. But it was always there, nothing was missing, but it was always like, ‘Wow, but there’s another side.’
