About 150 events of Einstein Bros. Bagels’ cream cheese flavor has been recalled due to the potential presence of undisclosed almonds that may pose a risk of life-threatening almond allergy in people with almond allergies.
Wisconsin-based Schreiber Foods issued a voluntary recall last week over cases of Einstein’s Honey Almond Cream Cheese Spread being mistakenly identified on the cup as Plain, according to the Food and Drug Administration.
“People with allergies or sensitivities to almonds are at risk of serious allergic reactions if they consume this product,” the FDA said in a press release.

The recall was issued after the product was found to have a mismatched lid and cup, the FDA said.
The lid correctly identifies the product as Honey Almond, but the cup incorrectly lists it as Plain. An investigation suggested there was a limited packaging issue that was fixed, and an update confirmed that the issue was limited to this product.
