Bags of St. Lukes two prestigious Healthcare Asia Awards

St. Luke’s Medical Center (SLMC) recently received two major awards at the Healthcare Asia Awards 2026, recognizing its location in Quezon City and its senior leadership. SLMC Quezon City has been named the Tertiary Hospital of the Year – Philippines, and Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Dr. Dennis P. Serrano honored as CEO of the Year – Asia.
“This recognition reflects the collective work of our people,” Mr Serrano said in a statement released on Friday.
“We remain focused on delivering care our patients can trust, strengthening the way we work, and continuing to lead responsibly.”
SLMC said the recognition reflects sustainable investment in accredited care systems, medical innovation, and patient-centered initiatives, which support effective and coordinated healthcare delivery.
In the past year, BusinessWorld we had the opportunity to combine several efforts and initiatives of SLMC.
Among these is the opening of a 40-bed hospice ward at its Quezon City facility, which offers free or subsidized care to patients assessed by the hospital’s social welfare team.
SLMC has also completed more than 2,500 robotic-assisted surgeries, strengthening its leadership in minimally invasive procedures.
The hospital also celebrated the 300th Transcatheter Aortic Valve Replacement (TAVR) procedure for aortic stenosis, which offers patients a faster recovery and shorter hospital stay.
Moving forward, SLMC previously announced plans for a new hospital in Paraçaque, which will expand its reach beyond Quezon City and Global City by 2030. Edg Adrian A. Eva
