Kid Rock helicopter video sparks US Army investigation into flyover

Kid Rock was attacked by the US Army after the singer shared a clip of what appeared to be military helicopters circling over his Nashville home.

The “Cowboy” singer threw his fist in the air when two helicopters became inactive outside his home in Tennessee, dubbed the “Southern White House.”

“I think they’re going to be fine,” he told WKRN. “My friend is the commander-in-chief. I mean, what are they looking for? They stop for seconds… a minute?”

Rock, 55, explained that he always says “whats up” when pilots practice in the area. “It was cool they stopped right there,” he explained of Saturday’s trick. “I wasn’t expecting that, but I thought it was pretty neat.”

Rock, whose full name is Robert Ritchie, is happy as an Apache attack helicopter circles his pool, which features a lifelike statue of Liberty.

“This is a level of respect that — for a genius the Governor of California will never know,” the singer captioned his video.

A Fort Campbell spokesman told local WKRN that an investigation has been launched into the plane at Kid Rock’s Whites Creek home.

“Fort Campbell leadership is aware of a video circulating on social media showing AH-64 helicopters operating at a private residence associated with Mr. Robert Ritchie (also known as “Kid Rock”). The command has begun an investigation to review the circumstances surrounding this operation,” said Maj. Jonathon Bless, Civil Aviation Officer of the 101st Public Affairs Division.

“The 101st Airborne Division (Air Assault) and Fort Campbell maintain strict standards of aviation safety, professionalism, and compliance with established aviation regulations. We take seriously all concerns about aviation operations and their impact on the surrounding community.”

AH-64 Apache helicopters reportedly flew over the No Kings protest in downtown Nashville earlier in the day.

“These helicopters were flying the track in the Nashville area for training purposes. Any encounter with the No Kings Rally that happened in Nashville that day was accidental,” Bless said.

Kid Rock is a staunch supporter of the President Donald Trumpsupporting him in all three of his presidential campaigns.
