Jimmy Kimmel’s Giuliani ‘grave’ joke didn’t wear well after his hospitalization

NEWNow you can listen to Fox News articles!

ABC’s late-night host Jimmy Kimmel joked about Rudy Giuliani waking up “from the grave” days before the former New York City mayor was hospitalized in critical condition.

The Giuliani bit comes after an ongoing feud between Kimmel and the White House after the ABC host referred to first lady Melania Trump as a “pregnant widow” days before the White House Correspondents’ Dinner was interrupted by an alleged assassin.

President Donald Trump and the first lady have both called on ABC to take action, but Kimmel insists he was only joking about their age gap and not referring to the murder.

On Tuesday, Kimmel was discussing the situation when he managed to tell another sick joke.

“So, last night, the mayor of America, Rudy Giuliani, rose from the grave to check the ongoing drama involving me,” Kimmel said in one letter before playing a video of Giuliani calling him “outrageous” over the “widow” controversy.

“I have to say that it hurts to be called a man who took off his pants in front of Borat’s daughter,” said Kimmel.

Kimmel continued to mock Giuliani, asking, “Does this man have family members who can come pick him up?”

This resurfaced online five days later when political strategist Ted Goodman announced that Giuliani had been hospitalized in critical but stable condition.

“Mayor Rudy Giuliani is currently in the hospital, where he is in critical but stable condition,” Goodman wrote on social media. “Mayor Giuliani is a fighter who has faced every challenge in his life with unwavering strength, and he is fighting with that level of strength as we speak. We ask that you join us in praying for America’s Mayor, Rudy Giuliani.”

ABC did not immediately respond to a request for comment.

Many White House officials and White House officials called for ABC to fire Kimmel for the “expected widow” joke, while others suggested the quip was inappropriate but did not believe the government should intervene.

After hearing about Giuliani’s news, Trump called him the “Best Mayor” in the history of New York City.

“Our wonderful Rudy Giuliani, a True Hero, and the Best Mayor in New York City History, BY FAR, is hospitalized, and in critical condition. What a tragedy that he was treated so badly by Radical Left Lunatics, Democrats ALL – AND HE WAS OKAY ABOUT IT ALL!” Trump wrote on Truth Social. “They rigged the election, made up hundreds of stories, did anything to destroy our nation, and now, look at Rudy. It’s so sad!”
