MakatiMed supports preventive health services with the new Wellness Hub

Makati Medical Center (MMC) is strengthening its preventive care with the launch of the Wellness Hub, a one-stop, full-service outpatient screening center that offers comprehensive health services in a comfortable, patient-friendly environment.
MakatiMed Wellness Hub is located on the 7th floor of Ayala North Exchange Tower 1, just a short distance from its main hospital center, providing a more comfortable environment while maintaining easy access to the center’s experts.
The facility has a floor area of 1,157 square meters.
“This is an MMC program that provides comprehensive and compassionate care, with a strong emphasis on comfort and convenience,” said Saturnino P. Javier, medical director and interim president and chief executive officer (CEO) of MMC, during a special press conference on Thursday.
“But in the end, it is guided by the quality and safety standards that MMC is known for,” he added, noting the hub’s main difference from its peers.
The MakatiMed Wellness Hub also includes in-center care services, which have been difficult for patients to travel to the hospital, said Arlyn L. Songco, senior vice president and head of creative, communications, and marketing services at MMC.
“Now it is outside the hospital in a good, relaxing place,” he said.
The hub offers services such as advanced health screenings, cardiac screening, diagnostic imaging and laboratory services, primary care appointments, skin and laser procedures, and mental health services.
Ms. Songco said that many services can be received by patients of different ages.
BusinessWorld had the opportunity to visit the Wellness Hub. Among the highlights is the dermatology and laser area, which includes a state-of-the-art machine that draws moles all over the body to help detect skin cancer early.
Eunice B. Mocas, MakatiMed Wellness Hub department manager, said the price of the advanced health check-up starts at P20,000, which already includes the “Basic 5” lab tests and tests: physical exam, complete blood count, urinalysis, stool test, chest X-ray, and chemistry panel.
He also said that the packages will be provided according to the needs and demographics of the patients.
Since its establishment, the MakatiMed Wellness Hub has helped about 100 patients a day during the months of malnutrition, Ms. Songco said. – Edg Adrian A. Eva
